1. Agreement

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of PandaPinyin, including its pinyin practice tools, accounts, saved results, leaderboards, daily challenges, and community-submitted practice text (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be legally able to agree to these Terms. PandaPinyin is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. Users under the age of legal majority where they live should use the Service only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity performed through your account. Account information must be accurate and must not impersonate another person or organization.

3. Acceptable use

You may not:

• break applicable law or infringe another person’s rights;
• attempt to access another user’s account or non-public systems;
• interfere with, overload, scrape, or disrupt the Service;
• upload malware or use automated tools without permission;
• manipulate scores, evade anti-cheat controls, or falsify results;
• harass users or submit abusive, deceptive, or unsafe content.

4. Practice-text submissions

You retain ownership of text you submit. You confirm that the text is original, public domain, or otherwise licensed for this use. Do not submit copyrighted lyrics, copied textbook passages, private information, or content you do not have permission to share.

By submitting text, you grant PandaPinyin a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, review, format, reproduce, display, and distribute that text through the Service. This license exists only to operate, moderate, and improve PandaPinyin. We may edit, reject, hide, or remove submissions at our discretion.

5. Scores and leaderboards

Scores, ranks, and challenge results are informational and may be recalculated, removed, or withheld when they appear invalid, abusive, or inconsistent with fair play. We do not guarantee permanent storage of any score or a particular leaderboard position.

6. Intellectual property and open source

PandaPinyin branding, original content, and product-specific code are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. PandaPinyin is built on open-source software. Open-source components remain subject to their respective licenses, including GPL-3.0. Copyright and modification notices are included with the source code.

7. Service availability

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, impose reasonable usage limits, or perform maintenance. We do not promise uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent availability.

8. Disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, PandaPinyin disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. PandaPinyin is a practice tool and does not guarantee language proficiency, examination results, or educational outcomes.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PandaPinyin will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, reputation, or opportunity arising from use of or inability to use the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Suspension and termination

We may restrict or terminate access when we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated, the Service is being abused, or action is necessary to protect users or the platform. You may stop using the Service or delete your account through account settings.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
